To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in reference to the custody case between {Name} and {Name}. I believe that {Name} should receive custody of the {child/children} involved in this case, and I hope I will be able to adequately explain why.
I have known the {Name} family for {length of time}, and in that time I have seen both parents interacting with the children in various capacities. While both parents have strengths, I can honestly say that {Name} is the parent who is best for the children at this time.
{Name} is patient and understanding with the children, and seems born to be a {mother/father}. {He/she} has sufficient income to care for the children on {his/her} own, which is not something that {other parent} can claim. But it's not just about money, though that is an important factor. Rather, it's about which parent offers the more stable environment for the children, emotionally as well as financially. After spending ample time with the children and {Name}, it's clear to me that {Name} is the one who is best for the children's emotional well-being in the long run.
I realize it is difficult to make this decision, because it breaks a family apart. But someone has to be granted custody, and it's crucial that you make the correct decision so that these children get the best possible future. That choice must be {Name}.
Thank you,
{Sender}
